Plans for a Community Park

Ross Township is in the process of developing a park for its community. The park is located on the property adjacent to the municipal building. The land was purchased by the township from Jim and Jean Haney. The name of the park will be the Ross Township Vanbuskirk-Haney Park which will be depicted on a sign that is slated to be installed in the near future.

It is proposed to be improved in stages. Phase I will be a parking lot located on Anchorage Road side of the park. Phase II will be to create a natural walking path around the perimeter of the park of which the road department has been working towards.

Some projects have been accomplished by some Boy Scouts as their Eagle Scout projects which include an entrance through the stone row to the park with tables and benches constructed and placed at the pond area.

This will soon be a place where the residents can gather, meet others, hold community events, and enjoy the beauty that our area has to offer.

Brick Pavers

The women of Ross  Club is continuing the sale of brick pavers at a cost of $50.00 each. You can purchase one with your name on it or as a memory paver. Please contact Jean Haney at 570-992-7416 if you would like to know more about this project or if you would like to make a purchase. The pavers are to be installed at a rest spot in the new park area with a bench and a tree.

Keeping our community clean

Take Pride in keeping your community clean

Anyone interested in cleaning up along the roadways of their neighborhood is welcomed to stop by the Township office during normal business hours to pick up trash bags for this purpose. This can be a great and environmentally friendly way to enjoy a beautiful spring day and take pride in keeping your community clean.

The Ross Public Works Department accepts tree limbs and branches every Monday 6:00AM to 2:30PM. This is made into free mulch for township residents.
